Thrust 2 of the Phase II Center for Strategic Design of Conjugated Polymers will design, create, and study well-defined aggregates of conjugated materials to understand the properties that emerge from the interaction of multiple polymer chains. We will utilize chemical derivatization and host-guest inclusion to create specific, well-defined aggregates of morphon-included polymers. The well-defined structures within these aggregates provide an ideal framework for comparison to theoretical models of interchain interactions.
